The study areas in the library of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Kohnstammhuis location, were ready for an update. Fresh colors, new furniture, and a matching mural brought new energy to the space. Based on their portfolios, students chose from four designers, and Wallnuts was ultimately awarded the project.
The design of the mural focuses on studying, collaboration, brainstorming, and meeting. These topics formed the foundation of the concept, complemented by references to the library itself and the beehives on the roof. By matching the paint colors precisely to some of the furniture, the result is a harmonious and balanced environment.

De werkplekken in de bibliotheek van de Hogeschool van Amsterdam, locatie Kohnstammhuis, waren toe aan vernieuwing. Dat betekent nieuwe kleuren, meubels en een bijpassende muurschildering. Studenten kozen, op basis van portfolio’s, uit vier ontwerpers. Wallnuts kreeg uiteindelijk de opdracht.
De ruimte is ingericht met oog op studeren, samenwerken, brainstormen en ontmoeten. Deze functies vormden de basis van het ontwerp, samen met subtiele verwijzingen naar de bibliotheek zelf en de bijenkas op het dak. Doordat de verfkleuren exact overeenkomen met enkele meubelkleuren, is een harmonieus geheel ontstaan.
